You'll need a (free) Google account is required and you must sign up for Google sites once.
If you do not have (free) Google account, then start with step 1, you already have a Google Account (or Gmail account) start with step 2.
Step 1:
click here to get a Google account to create and then come back.
(A new window will open).
Step 2:
Go to http://sites.google.com and log in with your Google account. Then click on the button: Create Site
Step 3:
- Give your site a name (this is also your website address: http://sites.google.com/site/ [SITE NAME] /
- Then you key in a description of your site (in short what your site is about).
- Then choose who may see the site (by default it is on everyone).
- Next, choose a theme (color scheme of your site).
- After that you have a security code to enter on your screen is displayed.
- Now you can begin furnishing.
The buttons and Create New Page Edit Page, you can add new pages or modify existing ones.
Through Create New Page you can decide what kind of page it is:
- a simple page where you insert your own text and images
- a dashboard page where you can put all kinds of gadgets like weather forecasts, news, a calendar, video (eg Youtube), a Picasa (photo album) web slideshow and much more.
- A news (announcements) page, where you place your news.
- A files page where you can store uploaded files and share them with others.
- A list page where you can capture certain tasks or can create their own list.
The nice thing is that many pages and even many different sites can as you want. Google gives you 100MB of free space above.
